Severe Weather Spotter and Safety Classes
The National Weather Service in Grand Junction provides spotter training classes each year, which includes information on severe weather and weather safety. These sessions are free to the public and are done in cooperation with county Emergency Management agencies across the area. Anyone with a desire to learn how to identify severe weather and to learn about the dangers from these storms is encouraged to attend. The “Basic Storm Spotter” classes run for about 2 hours. The “Advanced Storm Spotter” classes are about an hour in length.
