Good evening, EmComm’ers!

Please join me for a meeting of the Emergency Communications group from Mesa County and surrounding areas this coming Saturday, July 24th at 0900.  We’ll meet at the usual hangout, First Christian Church, 1326 N. 1st Street in Grand Junction.

Among the topics on the agenda is a discussion of the AREDN (Amateur Radio Data Network) and its applications for emergency communications.  Several of the WCARC gang (Bill KØDZ, Steve KEØBPD and some others) have been experimenting with this, and hopefully they can join us to talk about their progress.  AREDN is gaining traction in the emcomm community throughout the country and we should all be familiar with it.

Also, we’ll be discussing the Section Emergency Test coming up in October.  The ARES groups in Colorado are really working on getting this in place as a statewide exercise to test communication between the various ARES districts, EOC’s and other agencies.

If you have any additional topics you would like to bring along, just let me know.

Thanks, Chip NØWKR
