The 10 counties in Northwest Colorado (ARES Region 9) include:
- Region 9, District 1 – Eagle, Garfield and Pitkin Counties
- Region 9, District 3 – Grand and Jackson Counties
- Region 9, District 4 – Mesa County
- Region 9, District 5 – Moffat, Rio Blanco and Routt Counties
- Region 9, District 6 – Summit County
Any amateur radio operator who would like to join ARES in any of these Districts is encouraged to contact Regional Emergency Coordinator Chip Ferron NØWKR and we’ll put you in touch with the District Emergency Coordinator in your area. If the ARES community in your county is inactive, we would welcome amateur radio operators with a passion for Emergency Communications to step up and organize a unit in your area.
