So…once you’ve attended NVIS 101 & 201, what are you gonna do with it? How about an exercise!
Colorado ARES will be participating with Wyoming ARES in a multi-state NVIS exercise. The details for this exercise are still coming together, but we have a tentative date of 9 MAY and Colorado ARES is calling the exercise Operation Cross-Talk. We plan to construct the exercise around a contest format open to all Colorado ARES members. Save the date 9 MAY 2026 for Operation Cross-Talk and more details will be shared as we come closer to the planned exercise date.
This is also the date of the Fruita AdventureFest, so many of our team members will be supporting that annual event, but Operation Cross-Talk will present an opportunity to also set up an NVIS HF station in the race trailer as a real-world deployment opportunity. Come for the races, stay for the exercise!
