We all survived Desert Rats, so now it’s almost time for the Fruita AdventureFest Mountain Bike and Running Festival on May 11th and 12th! If you haven’t signed up to assist with the ARES communications support team, now’s the time. We still need a few more operators to make sure it goes smoothly. This event has a much lower operational tempo than Desert Rats, so this is a good time to dip your toe into the EmComm training environment and learn how to operate in real-world conditions. The races start at 0830 both days, so you’ll have plenty of time to arrive at the site and get set up. Let Chip NØWKR or Randy KDØNSP know if you haven’t signed up yet and want to join in the fun. If you’re interested, you will need to be at the MCARES monthly meeting (April 27th at 0900) to get details and be assigned to a station. This is our sixth AdventureFest, and it’s always a fun day of racing and radio!
