One of the goals of all the Regions and Districts in Colorado ARES is the capability to quickly and efficiently establish statewide voice communications. Since our partners at Rocky Mountain Ham have done the work of placing DMR repeaters throughout not only Colorado but down into New Mexico, the ARES leadership has tasked the Region Emergency Coordinators with creating a list of members who can utilize the DMR system throughout Colorado. This Saturday, August 5th, there will be a statewide roll-call on Rocky Mountain Wide, Central, South and North talkgroups to start the process. Times and talkgroups are:
- 10:00 – DMR North
- 11:00 – DMR Central (Talkgroup 720)
- 12:00 – DMR South
- 13:00 – DMR Wide (Talkgroup 700)
Since we (in Grand Junction) can access TG 720 and TG 700, we’ll be listening to those groups. After the listed participants are called, they should be calling for additional check-ins, so don’t be afraid to jump in as R9D4 members. This will be a great opportunity to try out our DMR skills in preparation for the October SET!
